What is a Gabion?

The term Gabion comes from the Italian word gabbione meaning “big cage”. Wire mesh baskets are filled with rock in a prescribed manner, the baskets are then laced together to create an exceedingly strong unified structure. These structures can be used in civil engineering, road building, foundation construction, soil stabilisation and more.
